Over the weekend, there was plenty of excitement for Miami fans when it was revealed that 5-star Georgia commit Donte Wright was taking an official visit to Coral Gables in June. Fast forward to Tuesday and it's now totally up in the air if that trip will take place or not.
Miami, Mario Cristobal will be hosting 4-star in-state QB for a visit this week
That's because Oregon and Dan Lanning must have found out about Wright's Miami plans and quickly stepped in. Moments ago, news dropped that Rivals' insiders Steve Wiltfong, Greg Biggins AND Adam Gorney have all put in their predictions for the Ducks to pull off a head-turning flip. Is Wright going to end up being Big Ten-bound? Things are moving in that direction:

5-star Georgia commit Donte Wright is now expected to flip to Oregon
This is terrible news for Kirby Smart, as a former Georgia assistant is about to pull a fast one on him. It's also disappointing news for Mario Cristobal and his staff, as it seemed like maybe, just maybe the Canes would be able to change Wright's mind as well.
While nothing is set in stone here and Wright, for now, remains committed to Georgia, it's pretty eye-opening that three recruiting gurus from Rivals tossed in their predictions at the same time - that sure makes it seem like a major decision from Wright could be on the way soon.
Should he end up flipping from Georgia to Oregon, that just means Miami will put in more work in trying to land some of its other top defensive back targets. The list includes fellow 5-star cornerback Joshua Dobson, who has said on multiple occasions he's got high interest in the ACC powerhouse.
Wright is ranked five stars, the No. 5 cornerback in the country and No. 30 prospect nationally for the 2027 class. We're not ready to throw in the towel here, but following this latest development, it's a long shot at best that he'll one day suit up for the Canes. Don't be surprised if Wright gives Smart some bad news soon, which will lead to Lanning and Co. celebrating in Eugene.
