Miami is still in game-week mode with Ohio State in the Cotton Bowl, but the roster work never stops. The winter transfer window officially opens Friday, Jan. 2, 2026, and runs through Jan. 16, which means Mario Cristobal and the Hurricanes' staff need to be ready... win or lose.
Here are three transfer commits Miami could land this week.
3. Omarion Miller, WR, Colorado
BREAKING: Colorado starting WR Omarion Miller plans to enter the @TransferPortal, @On3Sports has learned

The 6’2 210 WR totaled 45 Rec for 808 yards & 8 TDs this season
1 year of eligibility left⁰⁰He’s repped by @jacob_branch2 of @offscriptagency https://t.co/RlUbB6EMhS pic.twitter.com/1dtw3Y3yME
If Miami is going to keep building around Malachi Toney, it makes sense to add a bigger, vertical-play WR. That's basically Miller's calling card.
Miller caught 45 passes for 808 yards and eight touchdowns in 2025 for Colorado. He averaged 18 yards per reception and led the Buffaloes in all three receiving categories.
If the Hurricanes want a splashy wideout signing early in the transfer window, Miller makes the most sense. Another name that could be fun to watch at the WR position is Cam Coleman out of Auburn.
2. Mateen Ibirogba, DT, Wake Forest
Wake Forest DL Mateen Ibirogba is entering the transfer portal, his rep Jon Perzley tells @On3sports.

The 6-foot-3, 296-pound DL posted 21 QB hurries, 3 sacks and a forced fumble in 2025. Has one year of eligibility remaining.https://t.co/00VfNiH1KE pic.twitter.com/xY9woHtB5v
Ibirogba is a quick-twitch interior defensive lineman who's expected to be one of the more coveted names when the winter window opens.
Ibirogba played 12 games in 2025 for Wake Forest and finished with 21 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, and two sacks, plus one forced fumble on the season. He also had three quarterback hurries and one blocked kick.
Miami always hunts for interior disruption, and Ibirogba is basically an edge athlete who grew into a 290-ish pound interior guy without losing the quick first step. Also, the Canes might have to make the defensive line an even bigger priority than usual since they are set to lose some of their top guys after this season.
1. Sam Leavitt, QB, Arizona State
NEW: Oregon, Indiana, Miami, and LSU are early schools to watch for Arizona State transfer QB Sam Leavitt, @PeteNakos reports👀https://t.co/Wv4pIiNkOw pic.twitter.com/9VUjZN39kS
— On3 (@On3sports) December 15, 2025
Miami is one of the schools likely to be heavily involved for Leavitt once the portal opens.
Leavitt threw for 1,628 yards with 10 touchdowns and three interceptions in 2025, completing 145 of 239 passes (60.7%) in seven games for Arizona State. He also added 73 carries for 300 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns.
Plenty of reporting has connected Leavitt to Miami, among other schools. The Hurricanes have built a reputation for being a reliable landing spot for QB's in the transfer portal after welcoming Cam Ward and Carson Beck in consecutive years.
With both parties having CFP experience, this just makes too much sense.
