Former Kansas and TCU center Earnest Udeh will become the seventh McDonald's All-American to play for Miami. Lonnie Walker IV in 2017, Dewan Hernandez in 2016, Darius Rice in 2000, Steve Edwards in 1992 and Tito Horford in 1985 predeeded Udeh as McDonald's All-Americans to play for Miami.

Udeh has averaged 4.6 points per game and 4.9 rebounds while shooting 65.2 percent from the field and 56.1 percent from the free throw line during his career. Udeh had his best season in 2024-25, averaging 6.6 PPG, 7.5 RPG and 1.2 assists while shooting 63.4 percent from the field and 59.8 percent from the free throw line for TCU.

Udeh is the third transfer addition for Miami after the Hurricanes landed a commitment from former Indiana forward Malik Reneau on Wednesday and Michigan guard Tre Donaldson on Thursday. Miami will be the third program for Udeh after he spent his freshman year at Kansas in 2022-23.

Edwards is the only McDonald's All-American inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame, while Rice will be a 2025 inductee. Hernandez and Walker, the top two scorers for Miami during the 2017-18 season, are the only Miami McDonald's All-Americans to play together.

Edwards finished his Miami career averaging 12.7 PPG, 3.9 RPG, 2.8 APG and 1.3 SPG while shooting 38.2 percent from the field, 34.6 percent on three-point attempts and 69.9 percent from the free throw line. Edwards is first in Miami history with 766 three-point field-goal attempts and third with 266 made three-point shots.

Rice finished his Miami career averaging 16.1 PPG, 5.7 RPG, 1.2 APG and 1.1 SPG while shooting 40.3 percent from the field, 30.6 percent on three-point attempts and 80.2 percent from the free throw line. Rice finished his Miami career fifth all-time in points scored, 10th in scoring average, seventh in field goals made and fourth in three-pointers.

Hernandez averaged 8.6 PPG and 4.9 RPG, while shooting 56.0 percent from the field and 67.5 percent from the free throw line. Miami finished third in the ACC in 2017-18 with Hernandez second to Walker averaging 11.4 PPG and leading the Hurricanes with 6.7 RPG.

Walker averaged 11.5 PPG, 2.6 RPG, 1.9 APG while shooting 41.5 percent from the field, 34.6 percent from the free throw line and 73.8 percent from the field in 2017-18 which was his only season with Miami. The San Antonio Spurs selected Walker with the 18th overall pick in the first round of the 2018 NBA Draft.

Bethea averaged 7.1 PPG, 2.1 RPG and 1.2 APG while shooting 36.8 percent from the field, 32.6 percent on three-point attempts and 82.0 percent from the free throw line. Bethea entered the transfer portal but has Miami as one of his finalists. Bethea and Udeh could become the second pair of Miami McDonald's All-American teammates.
