Mario Cristobal and his staff have already been impressive on the recruiting trail, but the next few days could decide how much higher Miami's 2027 recruiting class can climb.

Rivals has live commitment announcements lined up for several high school football prospects over the next week, and Miami is in contention for some of the most important ones.

The group includes five-star offensive tackle Oluwasemilore Olubobola, five-star defensive lineman David Folorunsho and four-star safety Jarrell Chandler, with a separate Friday decision from five-star-plus offensive tackle Mark Matthews also worth circling. Miami has 11 commitments in the 2027 class and recently jumped into the top five nationally after flipping five-star cornerback Donte Wright from Georgia.

OT Oluwasemilore Olubobola, May 12

The first major watch for Canes fans is St. Peter's Prep five-star offensive tackle Oluwasemilore Olubobola, who is set to choose between Miami, Notre Dame and Texas A&M. Rivals has him as the No. 20 overall prospect in the 2027 class, while the 247Sports Composite ranks him No. 15 nationally, No. 3 among offensive tackles and No. 1 in New Jersey.

Miami has been in this recruitment for a while, but Notre Dame has carried the late momentum after Olubobola's April trip to South Bend. He will be committing at 9:00 a.m. C.T.

OT Mark Matthews, May 15

The most important Miami recruit of the week is St. Thomas Aquinas five-star-plus offensive tackle Mark Matthews. He will announce Friday, with Miami, Texas A&M, LSU and Georgia in the final group.

The 247Sports Composite ranks Matthews as the No. 5 overall prospect, No. 1 offensive tackle and No. 1 player in Florida. Texas A&M and Miami have generated the most buzz going into the decision, with the Aggies carrying much of the late momentum. A Miami win here would be one of the biggest offensive line recruiting wins of Cristobal's tenure. Think of this in terms of OT Jackson Cantwell from the 2026 class. That's the type of talent we are talking about here.

DL David Folorunsho, May 15

David Folorunsho is another target on the calendar. The five-star defensive lineman from St. Patrick in Chicago is set to announce May 15 and is down to Notre Dame, Miami, Texas Tech, Michigan and Georgia. Rivals ranks him as the No. 9 overall prospect and No. 2 defensive lineman in the 2027 class.

Folorunsho is a top-10 national prospect, and the race looks like it is coming down to Notre Dame and Miami. Notre Dame appears dangerous here, but Miami won't want to lose two big-time recruits to the Irish in the same week.

S Jarrell Chandler, May 18

The final Miami target on the watch list is Halls High School four-star safety Jarrell Chandler, who will announce May 18. Chandler will choose between Tennessee, Clemson, Vanderbilt and Miami. Rivals ranks him as a top-95 prospect in the 2027 Rivals300.

Miami already has Wright, Jaylyn Jones and Sherrod Gourdine committed in the 2027 secondary. But, Chandler would solidify the 2027 secondary class and put it in "elite" territory.
