Miami Hurricanes' four-star quarterback commit, Dereon Coleman, has earned an invitation to the Elite 11 Finals following an impressive performance at the Tampa regional camp this past Saturday. Back in March he was named On3's Top Performer at the Battle 7v7 South Florida tournament after leading Defcon United to the championship.

As a sophomore at Jones High School, he led his team to the state semifinals, passing for 2,236 yards and 16 touchdowns. During his junior season, the 5-foot-11, 190-pound Coleman completed 203 of 279 passes amassing 3,412 yards, 28 touchdowns, and only four interceptions. He also contributed 455 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 74 carries.

Coleman is the fourth quarterback to secure a spot in the Elite 11 Finals, joining Texas commit Dia Bell, Houston pledge Keisean Henderson, and Tennessee-bound Faizon Brandon.

The Elite 11 Finals, now in its 26th year, bring together 20 of the nation's top high school quarterbacks for three days of competition and training in Los Angeles this June. Notable alumni of the event include Andrew Luck, Matthew Stafford, Tim Tebow, Trevor Lawrence and C.J. Stroud.

Coleman has consistently asserted that Miami is the place for him. "My commitment’s been shut down since I committed," Coleman said. "I don’t know why schools keep offering me. I don’t wanna see no other schools. I only have one official visit. That’s Miami." Coleman also recently had a workout with former Miami QB and potential No. 1 overall pick, Cam Ward.

Coleman's recent performances have elevated his recruiting profile. In the latest On300 rankings, he is listed as the nation's No. 172 overall recruit and the No. 12 quarterback. As Coleman prepares for the Elite 11 Finals, he aims to further show off his skills and solidify his status among the nation's elite high school quarterbacks.
