Are the rich about to get richer? That's what Miami fans are hoping for, asfour-star wide receiver Eli Woodard is all set to announce his college decision at any moment on June 30. Woodard, a standout for Chaparral High in California, is down to Miami, Cal, and UCLA. While there's some buzz he could decide to play closer to home, Mario Cristobal has been working overtime to land him.
Miami is on a recruiting heater in Alabama and the college football world should be on notice
Just recently, multiple predictions have gone in for Miami to get things over the line. Should that happen, Miami would move past Texas A&M for the No. 2 class in the country. Soon enough, we'll find out where Woodard will play his college ball, but plenty of signs are pointing to the Canes getting this done.

Eli Woodard is announcing soon and Miami is hoping to land his commitment
The 6-0, 195-pounder took his official visit to Coral Gables on May 29, with Miami doing everything possible to turn his head. The same could be said for both Cal and UCLA, where he took officials to on June 5 and June 19, respectively.
The Bruins got the last opportunity to impress the youngster, which the UCLA faithful are hoping will help make a difference. Despite that, Miami indeed appears to be in the driver's seat, as Cristobal has sold Woodard on a great future in ACC - one where he could compete for national titles while suiting up for him.
Throughout his recruitment, the California product picked up 21 offers.According to the 247Sports Composite, he's ranked the No. 24 wideout in the country, No. 16 prospect out of California, and No. 164 playmaker nationally for the 2027 class. With his blazing speed, he'd of course be a problem for opposing defenses in the future.
Now, though, we must wait and see if he'll be catching balls from 5-star quarterback Israel Abrams in the future. The stud signal-caller recently worked out with Cam Ward, which had the Miami faithful buzzing. Cristobal is doing his best to bring in elite talents to suit up with him, with 5-star wideout Nick Lennear already on the list. Should Woodard join the party, it'd be huge for both Miami and Abrams.
With 19 commits on board, Woodard would help take things to 20. Cristobal has been pushing for one of the best classes in the nation, and reclaiming the No. 2 spot would be a win in itself too. All eyes are on Woodard right now, but Miami supporters have plenty of reasons to feel pretty dang confident about this recruiting race. From our chair, it'd be a bit of a surprise if he doesn't pick the Canes.
