Leading up to the 2025 NFL Draft, evaluations of quarterback prospects have intensified, with Hall of Fame quarterback and Super Bowl champion Kurt Warner offering his perspective in a recent interview with Joel Klatt. In a recent discussion on "The Joel Klatt Show," Warner elaborated on his assessment of top quarterback prospects, notably Cam Ward from the University of Miami and Shedeur Sanders from the University of Colorado. Warner explained why he ranks Ward ahead of Sanders in this year's draft class.

Warner commended Ward for his distinctive arm talent and versatility in making various throws. He highlighted Ward's ability to deliver the ball with notable velocity and adapt to different throwing platforms. "Now Cam, he's got a little extra uniqueness to his ability to throw the football." Warner said. "I think that's what catapults him to the top of the class."

Regarding Sanders, Warner acknowledged his proficiency in delivering accurate and catchable passes. He praised Sanders' touch and his capability to adjust the pace of his throws based on situational demands. "Shedeur may throw the best ball, and what I mean by that is the most catchable and accurate of all these guys." Warner said. "I love that he can pace the ball."

Warner's preference for Ward stems from the latter's unique arm strength and adaptability. He perceives Ward's physical attributes as offering a higher ceiling at the professional level. The 2025 NFL Draft features an intriguing quarterback class. Analysts have varied in their rankings, with some placing Sanders at the top due to his consistent performance and leadership at Colorado. Others, aligning with Warner's perspective, favor Ward for his raw talent and potential. Additionally, quarterbacks like Jaxson Dart from Ole Miss and Jalen Milroe from Alabama are also garnering attention, but not for the top two spots.

As draft day approaches, teams will weigh these evaluations carefully to make decisions that will shape the future of their franchises. Currently, Ward is being mocked to the Tennessee Titans who have the No.1 pick, the Cleveland Browns who have second selection, and any team — such as the New York Giants — who are willing to trade up to either position.
