There was some big news Thursday that should make a lot of college football fans excited. Yahoo! announced their return to fantasy college football. The platform tried this once before in 2018 and gave it up during the pandemic. Prior to Yahoo!, it was CBS Sports (back in its Sportsline days) that tried it back in the mid-2000s. That was an interesting experiment because you could only draft full units instead of individual players (ex. Miami wide receivers or Miami running backs).
This time it's players from the P4 teams and Notre Dame. The rules are pretty similar to what regular fantasy football players are used to, but they can be customized. The roster will include 1 QB, 2 RB, 2 WR, 1 TE, 2 FLEX, 1 D/ST and the newly created Team Offense, which is designed to reward offenses that maintain a level of performance and efficiency even when they are emptying the benches during blowout games.

5 Miami players that will help you win your college fantasy football league
Malachi Toney, WR
This goes without saying. Toney offers the volume for PPR leagues, the yards and the touchdowns. He's the best playmaker in college football and someone that you know will produce every week, whether it's with pass catching or some work in the backfield. Miami's offense is about getting Toney the ball, and he'll be a first-round pick in most leagues.

Cooper Barkate, WR
Barkate might not reach last year's numbers (72 catches, 1,109 yards) with Duke, but he might surpass the seven touchdowns he scored. And with Darian Mensah pulling the trigger for the Hurricanes passing attack, there's plenty of built-in chemistry between the two players.
Defense/Special Teams
Corey Hetherman;s defense is going to be a playmaking machine. The sacks will come from Damon Wilson II, Marquise Lightfoot, Armondo Blount and a host of others. The turnovers will come from a ball-hawking secondary that includes Bryce Fitzgerald, OJ Frederique Jr., and Omar Thornton. And the points will add up quickly for your team.
Darian Mensah, QB
Mensah led the Power 4 in passing last season and Shannon Dawson certainly wants to sling the ball around the yard. But the Hurricanes are a balanced attack with an explosive group of running backs that need touches and a head coach that loves to play a physical game. Mensah had six 300-yard games last year with Duke. Some of those games might turn into 250-yard games this year with Miami's balance, but the touchdown numbers will be high again.

Mark Fletcher Jr., RB
Fletcher might run into the same issues that Barkate might face. There are so many mouths to feed on this offense. Fletcher is going to be the guy, especially in the second half of the season and late in games. But Girard Pringle, Jordan Lyle and Marty Brown are going to get carries and at times they might get a lot of carries. Before Fletcher turned it on in the playoffs, his usage rate was not consistent from week-to-week. It will be much more consistent in 2026, but there will be games that Fletcher only gets 10-12 carries instead of 18-20.
