Expect Miami to target three of the top 10 players available in the transfer portal as profiled by Brad Crawford of 247Sports. Crawford wrote about the "College football transfer portal 2025: Nico Iamaleava, David Stone lead 10 best players available."

Stone and Florida State transfer wide receiver Hykeem Williams significantly considered Miami out of high school. Chris Hummer of 247Sports reported earlier this week that Miami will be "on the radar" for Syracuse WR Trebor Pena. Expect Miami to target high-level WRs this spring with the potential of adding two transfers at the position.

Stone is the second-ranked transfer currently available in the portal and 10th overall in the current 247Sports rankings. Miami hosted Stone five times for visits that included an official visit during the summer of 2023. Stone at one point received a 247Sports crystal ball projecting him to Miami.

In his one season at Oklahoma, Stone played in all 13 games and recorded six tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss and one sack, per Pro Football Focus via Crawford. Stone played the fifth most snaps among the Oklahoma interior defensive linemen, per Crawford.

Williams, who is a Fort Lauderdale Strahanan alum, took five visits to Miami as a high school prospect. Florida State and Georgia were the only programs to host Williams for official visits, per his 247Sports and On3 profile pages. Williams was frequently plagued with injuries at Florida State, per Crawford.

In two collegiate seasons, Williams has 21 receptions for 267 yards and two touchdowns. Williams played in nine games with eight starts and had 16 receptions for 187 yards and one TD in 2024. Williams chose Florida State over Pittsburgh and Miami in the class of 2023.

Peña is a late-blooming player who had 84 receptions for 941 yards and nine TDs in 2024. Before the 2024 season, Pena had 25 receptions for 271 yards and one TD. Crawford also stated that Pena has battled injuries throughout his career. Expect DT and WR to be positions Miami targets in the spring transfer portal.
