If there's one thing that's seriously standing out thus far for the 2027 cycle, it's that the Miami Hurricanes and Mario Cristobal are making the state of Florida a top priority. The Canes hold four verbal pledges, with each verbal being from the Sunshine State.
Elite Miami WR commit has an alarming list of official visits set up
Another Florida prospect that the Miami faithful are keeping close tabs on is no question 5-star pass-rusher Zyron Forstall, a stud talent for IMG Academy in Bradenton. The 6-3, 225-pounder has picked up 27 offers this fall, but he's got Miami high on his list. Why is he giving the Canes such a strong look? He told 247's Gaby Urrutia that position coach Jason Taylor is surely a big reason why:

Jason Taylor is hoping to help Miami land 5-star EDGE Zyron Forstall
Bring up Taylor's name in Miami and eyes are going to light up, as he was a complete and total force with the Dolphins during his playing days. Since retiring, he has made the transition to coaching and he's been with Miami and Cristobal for several years now as the defensive line coach.
Who better to coach up youngsters than a guy who was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in his first year of eligibility? That's right, Taylor was a superstar in the NFL and he was known for bringing down opposing QBs. That's exactly what he's teaching his players to do with Miami.
Thus far, Taylor has built a close bond with Forstall, who clearly enjoys the feedback and advice he's getting from the Miami coaching staff. For now, there's no set date for when the in-state target is going to announce his decision, but The U indeed is in the mix.
Per the 247Sports Composite, Forstall is ranked the No. 2 EDGE in the nation and No. 12 prospect overall for the 2027 class. LSU, Texas A&M, Notre Dame and many others are also working to bring home his commitment, but it's clear that Miami is going to be in it until the end for the '27 talent.
