It's always flip season in college football recruiting and Mario Cristobal is equipped with his spatula with intentions of adding to a Miami Hurricanes roster stocked with talent. Cristobal has flipped recruits in consecutive weeks and has his eyes on more, but he's not the only one.

Five-star cornerback Donte Wright, who flipped to Miami from Georgia two weeks ago, has decided to jump in on helping recruit his future teammates and decided to go after the biggest target on the flip board — five-star edge rusher DJ Jacobs

5-star EDGE DJ Jacobs is high on Miami's wish list of flips

Wright subtweeted himself from a week and a half ago when he said that he was shutting his recruitment down. Jacobs, who has been committed to Ohio State since late December, has not shut his recruitment down and continues to explore other options and speak highly of other programs. Miami has felt good about their chances to flip Jacobs at some point during this cycle and the elite prospect from the Atlanta suburbs has always had glowing things to say about the Hurricanes. It helps that Jacobs tends to move in silence and that has increased speculation that his pledge to the Buckeyes isn't solid.

The general rule of recruiting when it comes to flips, especially big-name prospects, is to follow the visits. That's tough to do with Jacobs because he tends to show up in places unexpectedly. It's one of the perks of having a younger brother, Dawson Jacobs, who's a highly-touted recruit in the 2028 class. He can take unofficial visits with his family under the guise of simply accompanying his brother to places that he's interested in. Jacobs also hasn't released a schedule of official visits for the summer. We all believe he's going somewhere, but who knows where that is or when it's happening.

There is one date this summer that Hurricane fans should keep an eye on

Wright is taking his official visit on June 5. It's going to be a weekend loaded with visitors. Two of Miami's newest commits, four-star linebacker AJ Randle and four-state offensive lineman Jatori Williams, will also be on their official visits along with three other commits and at least eight other major targets. If Jacobs visits Coral Gables that weekend, he'll be on campus with Wright and that would be a sign that the additional recruitment would work.

Jacobs isn't the only prospect Miami is trying to flip...not even close. Technically, four-star wide receiver Eli Woodard isn't a flip because he decommitted from USC a couple of days ago, but Miami is high on his list and an official visit seems inevitable. Another blue-chip edge rusher, LSU commit Jaiden Bryant, is scheduled to visit Miami next weekend and if he goes through with that visit, you can believe Cristobal will be putting on the full-court press. It might not be Christmas yet, but flip season could be the most wonderful time of the year for this Hurricanes staff.
