The Miami Hurricanes are set to host a significant visitor this weekend in Tradarian Ball, a top-rated running back from Texarkana, Texas. Currently committed to the Oregon Ducks, Ball's decision to visit Miami shows the Hurricanes' ongoing efforts to sway the Ducks' commit.

Ball, hailing from Texas High School, is recognized as one of the premier running backs in the 2026 class. Standing at 5-foot-10 and weighing 175 pounds, he possesses a blend of speed, agility, and vision that has garnered attention nationwide. In the 2024 season, he amassed 777 rushing yards with 11 touchdowns and demonstrated his receiving skills by securing 44 receptions for 1,017 yards and 14 touchdowns. These achievements earned him the 7-5A Division II Co-Offensive MVP honors.

So what do the recruiting sites think of the Oregon commit? On3 ranks him as the No. 4 running back nationally in the 2026 class, with a national overall ranking of 54. 247Sports Composite lists him as the No. 4 running back in the 2026 class and Rivals designates him as a four-star all-purpose back.

As of now, Miami's 2026 recruiting class is made up of five hard commits. Jordan Campbell is a four-star linebacker from Miami Carol City High School in Opa Locka, Florida. Standing 6-foot-2 and weighing 200 pounds, Campbell committed to the Hurricanes in November. Jaelen Waters is four-star cornerback from Armwood High School in Seffner, Florida and announced his commitment on March 7, 2025.

Dereon Coleman is a dual-threat quarterback from Jones High School in Orlando, Florida who committed to Miami last July. He was recently seen working out with former Miami QB and potential No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward. Ben Congdon is an offensive tackle from Tuscarawas Valley High School in Mineral City, Ohio. Standing at 6-foot-7 and 270 pounds, Congdon committed on March 3, 2025. Camdin Portis is a cornerback from Myers Park High School in Charlotte, North Carolina. He joined the Miami's 2026 class in October.

Hosting a high-caliber recruit like Tradarian Ball indicates Miami's intent to make this one of the best recruiting cycles in the Cristobal era. While Ball remains committed to Oregon, his willingness to explore Miami's program suggests an openness to considering alternative options. The Hurricanes have already shown the ability to flip 2026 recruits with Waters so it is something to keep an eye on.
