When it comes to college football recruiting, anything can change at the drop of a hat. This is something Miami football fans know all too well, especially with the transfer portal open. With that said, it's time to keep a close eye on 5-star transfer tackle Jordan Seaton.
Miami now 1 step closing to poaching Florida State starter in needed move
Earlier in the day, news broke that Seaton had locked in a visit with the Texas Longhorns. Because of that, there was serious worry that maybe the big-bodied lineman would make his way to Austin and then leave campus as a future Longhorn.
Well, let's hold the phone there. On Thursday, news has also broken that Texas has received the commitment of touted Wake Forest transfer tackle Melvin Siani. Because of this, does that mean Texas will focus its transfer efforts elsewhere and Miami can make a strong push for Seaton?

Miami fans remain hopeful Mario Cristobal will be able to land Jordan Seaton
The Canes of course are not the only team being linked to Seaton. Oregon and LSU are two other programs that jump out. Lane Kiffin has been on a roll in landing big-name targets and you know he'd love to send a statement by bringing Seaton to Baton Rouge as well.
That's obviously something that Cristobal is going to want to avoid, as LSU already snagged Sam Leavitt over the Canes not long ago. Miami is in dire need of a Francis Mauigoa replacement, as the talented tackle is a lock to be a first-round pick this April.
Is that potentially where Seaton can step in? That's what people are hoping for, but the first order of business is to get him to town for an official visit as soon as possible. Again, there was worry that Texas was the leader to sign him. However, it feels like the door has been swung open for someone else to get into the driver's seat. That team needs to be Miami.
